SIOUX Mems 3D Pro2
SIOUX PRO 2 is the brand-new version of CIAS’ fence-mounted intrusion detection system for perimeter protection which since 2012 has been installed with great results on many sites, always with high-security requirements and specifications. The Sioux system has also been awarded numerous prestigious prizes. The system, which detects fence cutting, climbing and displacement, comprises up to 140 MEMS sensors, sensitive on all three spatial axes, for each of two branches monitored by the central controller. These sensors are clustered in groups of 7, with each cluster made by 1 master-sensor and 6 slave-sensors. Each Master sensor receives by its Slave sensors the electrical signal relevant to the detected vibration on the fence, digitalizes and transmits it to the Controller Unit. Via Sioux-Test Pro, or via Relays with the innovative Touch&Zone function, the 280 MEMS sensors in the array can be divided into up to 80 alarm zones.
REDUNDANCY AND LINE INSULATORS
The new release of SIOUX PRO introduces a very important feature: cable cut-immunity. This capability insures that each branch of the Sioux sensor array remains fully functional even if the connection cable between sensors is cut in one location. This feature is of utmost importance in very high-risk sites. It is implemented by putting a special module at the end of each of the 2 MEMS sensor branches to provide connectivity to the TCP/IP network. Moreover, up to 19 isolators can be added per each branch, to make it short-circuit proof in case of cutting of the communication cable.

DISTRIBUTED INTELLIGENCE
Thanks to the ability to process every sensor that makes up the system, it is possible to adapt the response to any type of fence, even with mixed types within the same site. it is possible to adjust the working parameters for each zone, and, inside the zone, for each individual sensor.
the very high probability of detection (pod) and the very low nuisance alarm rate (nar) of this system, are the result of processing, for each of the three accelerometer signals produced by each transducer, according to “fuzzy log.
TOUCH & ZONE™
the installer can easily configure the zones in the field by walking around the perimeter and physically “touching” the sensors to select the beginning and end of each of the available zones. this capability makes it a much more immediate, quick and easy operation, while it is still possible to
configure remotely using the sioux test software.
ANTI-REMOVAL
by exploiting the capabilities of the mems sensors with respect to the acceleration of gravity it is possible to gain information about the position of the accelerometer in free space. during installation the position of the mems accelerometer, whatever it is, will be memorised. if the position alters by more than a pre-set, variable number of degrees (e.g. 5°) it will produce a tamper alarm.this allows sioux to detect possible physical changes in the fence, which probably indicate an attempt to breach or re-position the fence protection system, either when the sensor is removed from the surface of the fence, or when the fence is bent while trying
to break through.
PIN POINT LOCATION
each mems is identified and analysed individually via a specific channel on its master sensor, which knows the exact location of the sensor. each intrusion event will be identified by point with a precision of 1m regardless
of the distance between the sensors.
SIOUX AUX-IN
- New auxiliary-input module for SIOUX PRO2 fence-mounted system, very easy to install and for immediate integration to the preexisting SIOUX installation.
- It allows the collection of alarm / tamper / fault signals through Sioux.
- It’s the ideal solution to protect gates, moreover it allows the data collection of any third party device in the proximity of the fence
